An ecstatic dance designed to explore the question: “Who are we, underneath all the burdens we carry?” The journey was intended to give permission to dancers to temporarily shed the layers of protection they’ve had to build, to survive, and discover what lies underneath.

Tonight we experimented with themes of hibernation, both literal and metaphorical. We started very slowly, like a bear peeking out of its cave in early spring, and we gave voice to the emotions we have forced into hibernation due to societal demands. We arrived in internal chaos and departed feeling more whole.
An ecstatic dance designed to bring people back into their animal instincts, urges, and inspirations…unlearning socially conditioned suppression of emotions and of the body. We shook, we pounded, we made noise, we laughed, we cried, and we celebrated!

“Unearth Your Passions”(Sept 2024)
A wild ecstatic dance for the final morning of the 2024 ISTA North American Tribal Gathering. My intention was to bring people back into themselves so that they could move freely through the many emotions brought forth by this very intense weekend. I felt very blessed to DJ for this event.

This Ecstatic Dance Cobourg event was a guided journey from an embryonic, undifferentiated state into birth, childhood, and the entire life experience. We were birds, dinosaurs…whatever we wanted to be. We went through growing pains and eventually became our full embodied selves.
